We write the grant applications and the company proposals. Students do the research.
What we do
Our team writes to two kinds of funder: companies, and grant programs that fund economic opportunity. We research the funder, write the proposal, build the budget, and report back on what the money did.
Why students should not have to do this
Fundraising is a skill and it takes months. A student with a ten-week position has neither the months nor the record a funder wants to see. An organization with a track record can ask on behalf of many students at once.
What a proposal contains
Students who want to learn the craft can start here. Almost every proposal answers five questions.
- The need: who is affected, how many, and what the evidence says. Cite sources a reviewer can check.
- The plan: what the money will pay for, in plain words.
- The budget: each cost, how it was estimated, and who else is paying.
- The result: what will be different afterward, and how the funder will know.
- The record: what the applicant has done before with similar money.

For companies and foundations
Fund a student researcher
Your gift pays for rent, a stipend, books, or a journal fee. It goes to a student who has the position and lacks the money to take it.
