What we fund
What we fund
We pay the costs that stop a student from taking a research position, and the costs that stop finished work from getting published.
Rent and living costs for a student who accepted an unpaid research position.
Support for students who study who gets care, who pays, and who is left out.
Textbooks, prep materials, and course costs on the way into health and life sciences.
The journal fee that stands between a finished paper and a published one.
We write the grants and the company proposals, so students do not have to.
How we decide what to pay for
We ask one question: what stands between this student and the work? For most students the answer is rent. For some it is a textbook budget, a prep course, or a journal fee at the end of a project. We pay the cost that unblocks the student.
What we do not fund
We do not pay lab overhead, equipment, or faculty salaries. We do not fund students who have no position yet. If you are still looking for one, use the paid programs directory and the student toolkit.
Try your campus too
Many universities run their own undergraduate research funds. The campuses page links to each one. Apply there first, then come to us for what it does not cover.
For companies and foundations
Fund a student researcher
Your gift pays for rent, a stipend, books, or a journal fee. It goes to a student who has the position and lacks the money to take it.
