Boilerplate

The Student Research Institute is a student-run nonprofit, founded in 2022, that raises money from companies and grant programs and gives it to high school and college students who hold unpaid research positions in the health sciences, the life sciences, and health economics. It pays for housing, living costs, books, and journal fees so that taking a research position never depends on being able to work for free. SRI has funded more than 45 student researchers at 12 US universities, and health inequality research it funded is in use at the Boston Congress of Public Health.

Name and style

Use "The Student Research Institute" on first mention and "SRI" after that. Do not describe us as a course, a mentoring program, or a think tank. We are a funder.

Logo

The mark is a brain over a two-pane window. Use it in one color on a plain background, at 24 pixels or larger. Files: lockup, white lockup, mark, square.

Numbers you can quote, with sources

• Nearly 70 percent of college students work while enrolled.¹
• Students with paid internships average 1.61 job offers and a $62,500 median starting salary; students with unpaid internships average 0.94 offers and $42,500.²
